Charlotte Center for the Arts will be at the Preview/Pay What You Can Performance on Thursday, July 9th at 7:30pm to share more about CCA's mission and how working with and supporting organizations like Matthews Playhouse can strengthen community connections and expand access to the arts. For this night only, suggested donation is $10 per person (any amount accepted). General admission only, with donations collected at the door (cash or credit).
It's 1962 in Baltimore, and the lovable plus-size teen, Tracy Turnblad, has only one desire – to dance on the popular "Corny Collins Show." When her dream comes true, Tracy is transformed from social outcast to sudden star. She must use her newfound power to dethrone the reigning Teen Queen, win the affections of heartthrob, Link Larkin, and integrate a TV network... all without denting her 'do!
